To my friends in the gas guzzling countries of this world: A picture of the on-board computer of my car. Normal German diesel car - station wagon - Saturn Aura like, normal German traffic (up to 110 mph on the Autobahn), normal German driving, no hybrid. 145 miles for less than 9 bucks... in the US, in Germany it is about $21 right now...
And this is not even the most fuel efficient production car of this size on the market.
